The Energy Truly Never Dies!

I never know how to start a review... well this is not a “review”. It is the registration of the feeling by a huge Black Eyed Peas’ admirer and lover who has been waiting for years to a day like today. I am writing as I listen the album for the second time, by the way!

Well you know, as “everything in the world is changing”, some things happen for a reason: and The E.N.D. came to prove it 2 the Now Generation out there.

June of 2007 (one of the best days in my life yet!) - Black Eyed Pea Will.i.am nicely told me how the album would be called The END and I’m not gonna lie – it was a shock for me, even though the reason for was explained after I asked “Is that the end for the Peas? Why this name?” and heard a killing silence of 10 seconds before his answer.

Since then, I asked myself what would happen, and when the “electro-influence” talk was mentioned by the media I was like “WHAT?” – I could never imagine how the Peas would integrate such music on theirs, but one thing is right: I NEVER stopped to believe they would do a masterpiece, I trust on their work and I know for grant that will.i.am is a genious, though some people *cough*(I am talking about music people that feel like ‘oh I am the best, fuck all the rest’ – NO, U R NOT! THE PEAS ARE THE BEST AND FUCK U.) *cough* do not share the same opinion. That does not mean in any way that I was not worried as a fan, about such changes. I was, as any one, but I would be anyways, no matter what music they would bring this time.

Time passed by, people started reacting. Ok that is common of human beings, to pre-judge (in Brazil the word ‘preconceito’ means prejudice in Portuguese but actually pre-judgment in English) stuff even though they do not know how things are, how things will happen, and so on so on so on.

Boom Boom Pow was leaked, Will.i.am reacted – fact: if NONE paid attention, that was the best example of a huge professional, who lives, breathes and love his job. That made me have much more respect for him (if that is even possible!), though he was pissed even at people who did not have ANYTHING with the leaking – fans were actually told by the leakers that they worked for the Peas and it was an official preview. Well, I don’t blame Will, if I were him I would be also pissed off. Later on, it was all fine again. Fine as wine…………. Beer, champagne (Do not get tipsy or outta here yet!).

Not for the most active fans on the Internet. Not sure who picked BBP to be released as the first single, but let me say it was the most intelligent choice. Why? Because after all, this song represents the musical changes and is a punch on everyone’s faces to prepare us rapidly to what The Energy Never Dies was about. And it did. And the whole world did. Surprise surprise surprise! Look at Billboard everywhere, Electric Cities all over r so 3008!

Result result result? Ring a Ling everyone! Cuz when Imma Be was presented, people started shutting up and enjoying it more. And then I Gotta Feeling proved it, it is a huge SHUT UP, and many who said “I don’t feel this change, I wont buy this album” already picked it. Ironically, they even bought the standard and deluxe versions. Do I need to say more? HA. Never pre judge something, that is the best advice ever. Ok, but back to I Gotta Feeling, I Got a Feelin, I Got a Feeling […] – I did not lie when I said it brought tears to my eyes. It was like the concrete feeling that my Black Eyed Peas were back! After that, no matter what song would come on the album, I adopted that one for the rest of my life.

It makes me feel Alive - I ai ai ai! Oh yeah. More than me boyfriend-to-be. Let’s just keep it quiet cuz I don’t want to END something which hasn’t even started! Im glad he does not understand a WORD of what I type here. But how cute is a song asking you “Meet me Halfway” ? – literally. I love music, I love Madonna, and I felt a bit of her on this track…specially when the Borderline word was mentioned I was like “o hi!”. I love electro influenced love songs!

You guys should all stop reading this thing and go seriously Rock that Body and keep Partying all the Time. I love Daft Punk and DJs, but let me say the Peas made me literally jump off my chair with the former song! Not chair, but I wanted to get outta the car. And literally scream “Im outta my HEAD!”. I am not sure if I am right, but it reminds me the 70s and 80s…though I was not alive on that time, I know songs from that time.

Well I still have to take time off to write about the other songs missing here…

To sum up, I am so proud to be their fan. I am 21, Im at college, nearly graduating, and I will be a fan until the REAL end of the time. And I am truly enchanted with this album, pure energy. It is full of hard beats, yet makes me feel so soft. Extremely well done and really represents the changes going on in every single direction, I love the way how it is dealt. And the green “robot” (I like to call him Robert, though I know the Peas r there) of the cover brings innumerous intelligent messages. I hope this energy really never dies, even when their pods are filled with little Peas I think that I will be writing reviews of their next albums. It was worth it waiting that long and I feel renewed – that is really not the end, I feel it is just the beginning!
