Poem: Writer's Block
Written by CrushedBeauty on March 11, 2010
WRITER'S BLOCK
The ink in her pen doesn’t flow as freely as it did before
Her mind is restricted and she struggles on line four
In a haze, she takes a breath and realises she’s not feeling like herself
Undefeated she carries on, knowing this poem won’t write itself
But she screws up her paper to start over, she’d rather express words that are raw
But it’s impossible, she can’t think of a decent rhyme or metaphor
The sound of the ticking clock takes over and invades the air
Dropping her pen with a sigh, she looks down in despair
She stares at the lines on the paper and it stares back, the conquered mastermind
Words of absence have silenced her, stripped of expression so she resigned
Seeking an answer, a key to the problem she must unlock
She know’s she’ll find her words again, this is what they call Writer’s Block
