Poem: Departed
Written by CrushedBeauty on August 10, 2009
DEPARTED
A bond has been erased, the connection is now lost
Trust no longer exists, it perished in the Winter frost
I shiver with sadness, so close we used to be
A person I don't recognise there's no more you and me
We pass one another and become strangers in the night
I observe helplessly as you disappear out of sight
Anger shifts to sorrow so I turn the other cheek
But I’m immune to your cause, I buried the love you seek
We are the departed. Words crumble and voices fade
In pursuit of dark fortune your own soul you trade
Not invincible, quick to become society’s outcast
You ran to me for protection, but those days have past
Seated in isolation, I’m reminded of how much I miss her
Not just a friend or a person I once knew, you are my sister

This is a concept I thought of about sisters losing a connection with each other and no longer keep in contact.
