Thirty-five years ago, Jon Landau, journalist at Rolling Stone, wrote: "Last night I've seen the future of rock 'n roll, and his name is Bruce Springsteen." I guess he couldn't've been more right.
Playing small gigs, Bruce's first albums didn't hit the people much. Now, some of those songs are holy and are requested over and over at concerts.
Then came Born to Run, and hell, we were born to run. The New York Bottom Line experienced the rebirth of rock 'n roll back in 1975. The London Odeon Hammersmith, later on, made him a legend.
Now, he's 59, turning 60, and more than ever, these are his Glory Days...

Back in 2006, a 16-year old girl puts on Born in the USA, randomly chosen out of the 5 songs she had on her computer. She's just heard the song We Are The World, and wondering, damn, who's that man with the black leather jacket and with that incredibly powerful voice at 02:19? Well, he's the light. He's the light of music that girl's just encountered. But she doesn't know it yet.
So she looks up for his name, and finds a certain Bruce Springsteen. She's heard it already before and decides to listen to those few songs she's got. How come she'd never paid attention to them before? Maybe it'd be nice to go to a concert of him?! Unfortunately, the young girl finds out it is sold out. So out of disappointment, she decides to 'youtube' him.
And well, it turned out she knew much more of him than she'd ever imagine. The next day, she went to the store and when she came out , she was holding the Greatest Hits album in her hands.
For a year, she spent more time on the computer listening to the man they call "the Boss" than doing any other computer-related activities alltogether.
October 2, 2007, Magic, the new album, comes out in stores. One week later, the now 17-year old girl knows the songs by heart. And two months later, she's standing in the pit, surrounded by 20.000 people, her eyes filled with amazement as Bruce Springsteen hits the first notes of Radio Nowhere.
Six months later, she sees him again. But this time, with friends. Someone she had known for years, but never knew was a fan too. Oh, those past six months were amazing. Bruce Springsteen created friendships. He tightened bands. He brought close some people. He did all that. He doesn't know it though, but he did...

You know, some stories never end. Some are eternal and make life so joyful. Well, the story of Bruce and I, tramps running down the street, will never end. It never will.

Love that pic too! He does that at every concert, swirling his guitar around... :)

and surely, when you write about something you're deeply passionate about, the words just flow so naturally as rivers run through rocks.
