That's pretty sad to know. I see the standing split and I see it as that. The first influence of Ballet I had was watching the olympics growing up and seeing ballet applied to so many things, figure skating obviously included.
I would hear some friends and family make varied slurs along the way to different things they see. It would get to a point where it would be too much and I just tune them out. Not to mention get burnt out on the company and limit my time around whom ever it may be.
When it becomes a deviation and distraction for those people and their carries on. I just don't take them seriously and put my focus to better light.
I'm not a kiljoy but I'm just not a baby sitter type. When I speak up about something. Some people straighten up and others try to get after me. That's when I walk away and not just mentally.
As the old expression goes. "Some peoples children"...
