First day at my new job!:)
Written by Lisalovespcd on October 18, 2011
Heyyyyy BM FAM:D
So i promised to keep u all updated about my new job SO HERE GOES:D

Yesterday was my first day starting at the dakota and i was super nervous, I mean nervous like I was crying before i left home!:P and it took me 10 minutes to get out the car to walk the few steps to the front door LOL! When I got in Chloe(mum's friend's daughter:P) came to get me and take me to the locker room and get my uniform on then we went to the restaurant where I met Chantal for the first time (think shes a manager LOL!) and I got showed around again!

Pics of the restaurant............!!!!!
The first job I done was fold napkins, which was ok! u have to fold them a fancy way so i was quite happy doing that for a while then i had to make sure all the tables had candles on and i learned the table numbers too, and that was the thing i was most worried about but its quite easy to remember! Im trying to think what i done after that lol..................................hmmm oh yeah I went into the kitchen and polished the plates and cutlery and all the chefs were getting the food prepared for when service started! this was at about half 4 and service didnt start till 6pm! when i done all that i went for a break and by the time I got back service was about to start.... It wasnt meant to be busy but a flight to dublin was delayed or cancelled so an extra 60 people were going to show up so i was a bit worried! BUT I kept telling myself to BREATHE:D cos kimmy kaye told me to remind myself to breathe! and it worked! so thank u for the advice ms.wyatt!<3 Most of the time I tried to keep on top of the polishing plates etc but I did serve food too! Trying to carry a tray the right way is hard, my hand hurts already and thats only been one day haha, but I got on fine although I almost dropped one LOL but I managed to keep it steady, some of the trays were really big ones so i tried to leave them to the boys haha but i did take few but I had to put them down on the tray tables and just take the plates to the tables:) I even done a room service but I went up with the manager but I feel pretty confident about doing it on my own next time(I think)...........................

Private table in restaurant, Reception and bedroom suite!
Hmmmmm what else? Not really much else apart from making sure everything was tidy etc and that things on the check list were done!
I was meant to finish at 11pm but I got asked to stay until finishing time(12am) to help set up the breakfast table for the morning! I didnt mind cos i had the car so I didnt get home till about half past midnight! but was all good in the hood, I was worrying about nothing!
SO there ya go, an update about the first day! put some pics up of the hotel so u can see what it looks like:D
Love u all, thank u for all the good luck messages and being there and BELIEVING IN ME!:D Hehehe! without Kim and BM id be nowhere so Big hugs to all of u <3

So happy your first day went well :) I knew you would be fab. I saw your tweets earlier though...It won't all be plain sailing but everything is a learning curve. It will take time for you to settle in and adjust to your new job. When I worked at NL I wasn't particularly fond of it at first. Felt like everyone was really bitchy, I didn't know what I was doing and felt like I was being a nuisance so didn't ask for help. But then I learned it all gradually and made some amazing friends and cried when I left. So don't give up hope when you have a bad day, keep your chin up :) xxxxxx
