 Beaches in Silves  

The owner´s comments Quinta da Alegria is a beautiful villa beside the baragem (lake) do Arade and is suitable for a maximum of 16 people but also very comfortable for smaller parties. The villa lies beside the lake and is surrounded by a hilly environment, more or less 8 Km from Silves.

In the centre of the lake lies a small island from which you have the possibility to practice all kind of watersports, such as waterski, jetski, bodyboard, canoe. The region also provides the possibility to go mountainbiking or nice walking tours. Should you rather admire the breathtaking region on top of a horse, that is also possible. Quinta Alegria lies in the region where the "medronho" trees grow.

The "medronho" is a very colourful fruit which is used to produce the local "firewater". This is a very popular drink in Portugal.The villa is divided in two floors and each floor has a well equiped kitchen. Each floor has four bedrooms, and each room has satelite television with a good choice of channels. The ground floor has three bathrooms and the top floor has two bathrooms. All rooms have two big single beds, except for one room which has a romantic double bed and own bathroom and a view over the lake. Each livingroom has a fire place, big television with DVD and large diningtable. In the garden you will find terraces with lazy chairs, a B-B-Q and a large swimming-pool (6 x 12 metres). This villa has a special medronho salon where this drink is served from the original alambique (still). This room also has the possibility to give presentations, play a hand of cards or pull a drink.

There are several terraces with beautiful views of the lake, which in the summertime lays low but during the winter season can get very close to the villa.
