May is a month of fiesta here in the Philippines
Written by annen-doshin on May 18, 2009
One of the most successful fiesta that became popular here in the Philippines is the Pahiyas Festival held in this small town in the province of Quezon. It is celebrated on 15th day of May to pay tribute to the patron saint of farmers San Isidro Labrador (St. Isidor). local residents virtually transform their homes into farm houses. they decorate it with rice stalks, fruits, vegetables and kiping --kiping are leaf-like wafers made from ground rice, its thin crunchy and brittle like tacos only colorful. They arrange this kipings to form all sorts of shapes like chandeliers, lanterns and huge flowers.
Two years ago i had the privilege to witness this colorful and magnificent festival. I took a lot of pictures they're really nice and beautiful and its rotting in my hard drive so might as well share it with you beautiful peeps.
