I Gotta Feeling Movie Diary

DAY 1: It's the 3rd December and I just came home from school. I checked the latest BEP news, when I recognized that they streamed the day of their Grammy Nominations Concert on the internet. On one of these videos there was will.i.am speaking about a competition. At first I was like: Oh these lucky US people. But then he said 'no matter where you live. you can be our personal guest at the Grammys 2009'. I don't know how long it took for me to understand but then I switched back the scroller of the video to hear it again. And then he said it again. NO MATTER WHERE YOU LIVE... Immediatly I opened dipdive.com to get more informations but at this point they didn't really knew that much because will just came up with this idea. For me it was clear. That's the chance of my life. I will never get a chance like this again. And I have to do it like BOOM. I started my messenger and immediatly wrote Andrea. From her I know: she has the time, the fun and the support of her parents to do this. And she was like: Oh my God! We have to do this!! And we have to do it like BOOM (isn't it crazy how one BEP song can change the way teenagers talk.. even in Germany?). We decided to do a whole movie with a story. And we will start with a detailed plan tomorrow..

DAY 2: The next day we started to collect our ideas (story, locations, effects) for our movie. We got really a lot of them and now I tried to wrote a script, which contains all of them. After a few hours and many sheet of paper later I finsihed my first 6 paged script. We also had to give a budget (around 40€) for this film to realize all of our ideas. No we had a script with every single part of the story and a budget. At this point we didn't knew that the next day our project would be close to hold..

DAY 3: Dipdive published the rules for this competition. And of them was: You must be over 18 to win. It was a big shock for us. All our work for nothing only because we are a few months too young? Now we had a script but no chance to win. But of course we didn't gave up..

DAY 4: We wrote an e-mail to Dipdive asking them why they had to set this rule. Maybe we could find a solution. They replied us that it has to do with 'the legal issues around flying'. So now we knew the problem and thought about solving it..

DAY 5-6: Dipdive announced the deadline of this contest. The 3rd January. We recognized that we can get trouble with this date because our movie will be finished only 2 days before this contest ends. Maybe we don't have enough time to advertise our result. So I started to do a little Trailer for this movie catching peoples attention. But how to do a trailer without any scenes from the movie? We had to change it to a Teaser, which was made on Sunday and released Monday.

DAY 7-8: I phoned with my local airport and the german airline responsible for flights to the US. Interesting result and time to let them Dipdive know..

DAY 9-10: We are still under time pressure. We are forced to do a strict time line for filming the movie. We set our shooting days from 28th December to 1st January. It will get very close to release the movie on the last shooting day because one of the main works will be to finish it on the computer and sync it with the song. So I used these two days to produce the credits at the end of the movie..

DAY 11: We have to do a break caused by the last week of school filled with exam dates for both of us..

Day 12: The exams in school are over. The rules were officiale changed. Now we definitly know that we have a realistic chance to win. We start with details for the script. This movie will be the best we've ever made and with many surprises within surprises. Creative work!

DAY 13: I just finished the script for the movie. We also finished our shopping list, our timeline and our The Story Behind the Movie Blog entry, which we will publish with the movie release 1.1.2010.

DAY 14: It's two weeks later after we heard about the contest. Today we finished the visuals for our movie and made a shopping list for tomorrow..

DAY 15: Today we gonna buy our equipment we need for the video..

DAY 16-17: Weekend break

DAY 18: Preparing our different movie sets..

DAY 19-20: A longer break until the first day of shoot. But we still figure out some scenes and sets..

DAY 21: Today is a very sad day. Andrea can't any longer be part of this movie due to personal problems. It's soo sad after 3 weeks preparing the whole thing. The whole project is now on hold and I don't know how to finish the movie alone. I'll keep you updated..

DAY 22: First of all: Merry Christmas to everyone! And this day already starts with a positive message. Andrea called me and said she that maybe she can be back for this movie. Beside all the trouble she has to handle with the next time she tries to get one day free so we can shoot the film. We gonna have to reduce all the 4 planned shooting days into one but at least we can finish it. It'll be a lot of stress but let's hope she can manage it..

DAY 23: Day off. Gonna visit family members for christmas

DAY 24: So we just set our first day of shooting. It will be next Thursday from 6am to 10pm (if we get all the scenes). So this would be 90% of the movie. The rest I can manage to do on my own so we won't get any problems with our release date on 1st January..

DAY 25: Today we start with the promotion of our movie. BEP.com/Dipdive.com profiles get a new look!

DAY 26: Today will be the last day to prepare our movie. We still have a lot to do to make it look perfect..

DAY 27: RIGHT NOW WE SHOOT THE MOVIE!

DAY 28: So yesterday we finished 90% of the movie. We got nearly 1 hour of film material and the next days I gonna put them into one..
Release Informations: We gonna upload the Trailer and 2-3 sequenzes of the movie TOMORROW. The whole movie will premiere 010110

DAY 28: TODAY WE WILL RELEASE THE TRAILER AT 2AM GERMAN TIME!!

DAY 29: THE MOVIE IS FINISHED! IT WILL PREMIERE AT 00:00 GERMAN TIME!
