Life is Life...
Written by linsey12 on February 1, 2009
The question on so many lips regards the meaning of life. We are told it shall be revealed in death...rather ironic that you won't know the meaning until it is too late. Perhaps death has nothing to do with it. Each of us plays a part in how the world develops but the truth is that life has no set "meaning". Make of it what you will.
We are all individuals, treating life as a race designed to weed out the weak and promote the strong. We make it a game which determines who is the most beautiful, the most intelligent, the most successful. But who creates the rule book? And who determines the winner?
Are we really so vain that we feel the need to justify ourselves in such ways? will these factors ultimately affect our right to happiness? I shouldn't think so, and I most certainly hope not! If they do, I'm in serious trouble, along with every last one of you.
We shouldn't be competing with one another. We determine our own beauty, intelligence and success by the way in which we view ourselves and the world around us; by the manner in which we treat other people.
We are all different at birth. As babies we have an innocent mind, open heart and cleansed soul. We see people for who they are. We love them for the way they treat us and for how they make us feel.
Yet as we grow, we become increasingly defensive - we strive to be the same in order to avoid being branded an outcast.
What will this achieve? A world of clones created not in a science lab but by mankind's inability to accept individuality. In following current social trends, we face a future of monotony, boredom and self-imprisonment. The art of conversation is dying. the necessity to explore, develop and share will soon become extinct. We are all unique. i am unique. You are unique. Be proud of what nature has granted you, not afraid or ashamed of it.
We each determine the meaning of our life by the manner in which we approach it. A certain quote springs to mind, "it doesn't matter what happens to you in life, it only matters how you cope with it!". you can take events n your life and analyse them until you are blue in the face, but that won't alter the history books. It will only serve to create confusion and foster regrets. Perhaps we should all realise that the lessons to be learned are those which are staring us in the face, not necessarily those that we search so doggedly to find.
You see, we all face our own trials and we are our own courtroom, judge and jury. This allows us to choose whether our personal trials drag us down and drown our spirits, or whether they lift us up amongst the stars and make us stronger and more determined to achieve our dreams.
The world can be a much happier place if we are all allowed to maintain our unique status. It has been said that smiles and laughter are contagious, so why not spread yours around? What's that? stop pretending? Life isn't child's play? But of course it is!! At least it should be, and it can be if you let it. Learn to rediscover your imagination. Sing as though no-one can hear you and dance as if no-one is watching. Live for your dreams, have fun! Whatever your path, from it's beginning to end, let your heart lead the way. live life and make your own happiness.
Life is life.
Make of it what you will...
