I, Bahereh Khodadoost, came to the United States of America in 1979, it was shortly after the Revolution of 1979 that took place in my beloved country of Iran/ Persia. Life took me through its path for many years, and I stayed as an Iranian through it all, the land that has taken my heart. I came to America with a student visa, and over 23 years ago or so I got my Green Card which was simply an off-white card:-) granted to me based on religious asylum and made me a permanent citizen of this country.
 
 It was in the Fall of 2006 when I chose to get my American Citizenship, and I was not quite sure why finally after living in this country for over 27 years, I made the decision, today I know why!
 
I know why I gave up my Green Card that made me a Permanent Resident of the USA for over 23 years and I became an American Citizen of the land that has beckoned me for so long, my host country of the United States of America, my 2^nd home. For one I believe in HEARTizenship, so why not to be an American Citizen with the privilege of voting for a HEARTizen Barack Hossein Obama, literally meaning Blessed Good Obama! I came to this realization later on! A human being with a global view, a person of diversity within himself and outside of himself, a man of integrity and a sense of nobleness, and certainly a man who has chosen an educated, intelligent, and beautiful partner in life, Michelle, and their two beautiful daughters! Indeed Mr. HEARTizen Bridge Obama,  you are a Citizen of the HEART, YOU ARE GLOBAL, and I would like to extend my congratulations to your presidency and many years of friendship, unity, prosperity, and cooperation in the world for the years to come! Indeed
Only a HEARTizen can heal the world! And you are ONE!
 
By the way, you share a name with my late-beloved-father, and your 1^st name is a variation of Mobarack which is used often when Iranians greet each other on the occasion of the Persian New Year/ NoRooz, meaning New Day by saying NoRooz Mobarack/ Blessed New Day!

It's a new day in Germany right now and it really feels good to listen to that inspirational song. My hopes are with the americen citizens, that Obama will be the great president, that so many people wish him to be. And I hope his presidency will be good for the whole world!

By the way, I tried to buy the song at iTunes, but unfortunately it's not available for german customers. Well, so I still have to come back here to hear it for free...

I can't stop watching the video.  I cannot stop singing this song.  I woke up this morning feeling brand new.  Thinking about what's changed in my life in eight years.  Thinking about how the world might be different without eight years of George Bush.  Thank you Will.i.am.  Yes we can!

This song is fantastic! I have to admit, I haven't really followed the music of will.i.am before this last month, but after finding Yes We Can on the palinaspresident site, I'm a fan. I love your lyrics and I love the videos you put together! Hooray for the new day we have, and hooray for the brighter future!

I fell in love with this song when I heard it on Oprah last week! It brought tears to my eys...and after hearing it for the 1st and only time...me and my five year old Son knew the words and sang it all that day...lol We're still singing it! I love it, I love it, I love it! It came so easy to us because it too is the song in our hearts! Once again...I love it, I love it, I just love it!
