Why Lie?

Have you ever lied to yourself so deeply, that you let yourself glamorize the past? As a race, we do this all the time. Ancient Rome, The Renaissance, and the Clinton Administration were all less amazing than we make them out to be. I find myself over-exaggerating the positive qualities of individuals all the time. I just have this strong belief that everyone is remarkable and worthy of all the time, attention, and love I can give. How do you know when to draw the line, and look at someone for exactly who they are?
