Well this weekend I realized I'm pretty much done with any competition that involves singing. I had a show at a local festival, and afterwards one of the festival coodinators asked me to participate in their singing contest the next day. It's called "Strawberry Idol" lol. I did and, of course, I sang one of my own songs, a song I don't have up here on dipdive yet called "Ni Na'A'Wa' Ki Ni Kawi". I made 4th place just barely missing the finals.

I was beaten out by two older men who sang Motown and a woman who sang something with a big range lol. I was upset for about an hour, but then I realized "Hey, about 20 people have come up to tell me how awesome they thought I was, or how much they loved the song"

Those people were the real prize.

The spirit of competition blinds me to what's really important, and live is too precious to walk around blindly. It's never about winning. Winning should only be the means to an end! I've got too many souls to touch and connect with :)
