So what's your story, morning glory?
Written by zahd on July 1, 2009
Thing about us homosapiens, is that we are greedy. For me, my greed comes in the form of my thirst for new experiences by meeting new people. To me, each and every person has a different story to tell, and with each story, one is definitely able to take something out of it and be a better person. This kinda explains why I have friends from so many different backgrounds. I try to learn as much as I can from their stories and apply them to my life.
I have a friend, Dan, who lost both his parents when he was 3 years old. His story made me appreciate my parents more. Another friend, Ash, has the interest to study but there are so many things that are going against him at this point of time. His story made me realise that I am extremely lucky that I even got a place in university to do my honours degree in a course of study which I'm very much interested in. There is another friend whom I shall call S, whose family disintegrated upon the passing of his grandparents. His story made me feel grateful that my family is standing stronger than ever, after my grandparents' deaths.
There are so many things you can learn from the people around you. Even a 10-minute interaction with the stranger sitting next to you on the public transport might teach you the lesson of a lifetime, something which you will never learn in school.
So hey, I'm Zahidah and if you have the time to spare, I would be more than willing to hear your story (:
